How does a drink as fabulous as the Chocolate Martini spring into existence? Ask Hollywood! The year was 1955. Two stars in their prime, Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor had come together to shoot the film Giant, in Marfa, Texas. Legend has it that in addition to keeping fellow crew members up all night, the two chocolate-loving stars mixed chocolate syrup and chocolate liqueur into a traditional vodka martini. The rest, as they say, is history! In an interview many years later, Elizabeth Taylor stated that in her opinion, the chocolate Martini was the greatest chocolate drink ever concocted.

While both stars have sadly passed, we’re certain both would appreciate this fabulous tea we’ve developed in honor of their signature drink. Starting with a rich, flavorful black tea blend, we’ve added natural flavors of cream and vanilla, topped off with sunflower and calendula petals.

Suitable for daily drinking with a splash of milk and touch of sugar, this one can also be brewed as a vodka mixer for after dark imbibing. Here’s to Hollywood!

Double Double Chocolate Chocolate MarTEAni Recipe:
Start by brewing a pot of Chocolate Marteani tea, remove the spent tea leaves and setting aside to cool. (You may wish to refrigerate the tea overnight.) Next, in a Martini shaker, pour 1.5 oz regular or chocolate vodka, 0.5 oz crème de cacao and top off with the brewed tea. (You may need to experiment with the amount of tea you add to the drink.) Shake over ice, and serve!
